Here to the west of Doncaster the river Don is in a wooded gorge through a ridge of Magnesian limestone.

This meeting on the Staffordshire side of the Dove will record on the hills to the north of Alstonfield. The main habitats to be looked at are limestone outcrops and drystone walls. On the database there are no records for these hills.
