This interactive map shows the distribution of a species in every 1km monad and 10km hectad in Great Britain and Ireland as of December 2025. The next update is planned for June 2026. Either select a species from the list or start typing to filter the list. Click on each square for more information, including the vice-county if known.
Note that on this map the hectads (10km squares) do not include monad (1km square) records, you can zoom in to see those. This is different to the static maps on the species pages where all the records for a hectad are combined. You can opt to see a 1km grid when zoomed in. Individual record details are not shown here, they are available from records@britishlichensociety.org.uk on request. At present we are unable to show records for the Channel Islands and only hectads for Ireland or the Isle of Man.
