Petersfield Area Lichen Enthusiasts (PALE) meeting

Date: Wednesday 5 April

Time: 10 am to some time in the afternoon, bring lunch

Meet: Waggoners Wells car park, GU26 6DT

The car park is a little tricky to find the first time as it is across a shallow ford. Head for Grayshott by turning off the A3 before the Hindhead tunnel, continue through Grayshott and along the Headley Road, past the church and as the road curves right there is a complicated turn to the left. Take Waggoners Wells Lane and it will lead you down. It is about 30 minutes drive from Petersfield.

Contact for possibility of car share, details can be found on the PALE page on the BLS website

Introduction to Lichens afternoon at Parcevall Hall, Yorks Dales

End date
Event Description:

Judith Allinson, the leader of this event writes:- This is part of a five day residential course/ holiday at Parcevall Hall, near Appletrewick and near Simon's Seat in the Yorkshire Dales run by Christian's Aware.   Extra people are welcome at individual sessions on the course - It is up to you to contact the organiser and agree on a donation for the talk/ walk / meal you attend.  I am the leader for the Monday afternoon.  Although the "Lichens" talk is scheduled for 4.30pm, I am leading a walk at 1.30pm to look at Greenhow Burial ground which has good "Hay meadow plants" (provided it has not been mown), then back at Parcevall Hall we will look at some lichens in the grounds before the talk.  This is an introductory session It is assumed that the majority of the attendees will have no previous knowledge of lichens.
