Why donate photos of lichens or lichenologists to the Society?

Good quality photos (original, highest resolution please) can serve several useful purposes:

  • Use in the Society’s publications, both print and online
  • Lichen research
  • Adding important identification aids to the Species pages on the BLS website
  • Longer term archives

How to submit photos of lichens or lichenologists to the Society

Submission of photos to the society is a simple two-stage process:

  1. Complete the Photo Submission Form, here: https://forms.gle/uFkvewnsgNSiskBb6. The form requests details of the lichen in the photo, the copyright holder and also requests permission to use the photo in several (optional) formats.
  2. Send your photos to photos@britishlichensociety.org.uk - note: for larger numbers of photos, we suggest using WeTransfer, or provide a link to an online album, eg Google Photos.
