Strathclyde area local meeting
Location: Rouken Glen Park, Glasgow
Date: Thursday 8th February
Start Time: 10.00am
Meeting point: outside the Garden Centre NS547585
Finish time: 4.00pm or earlier, depending on enthusiasm and weather.
Parking is available in the car park off Rouken Glen Road, in front of the Garden Centre.
Public Transport: Whitecraigs train station is just outside the park and there is a twice hourly train service running between Glasgow Central Station and Neilston. Several buses also stop near the park on Rouken Glen Road, Nishill Road and Davieland Road.
Snacks/ lunch: There are 2 cafes in the park and particpants are welcome to bring their own food and snacks if preferred. We will have a break for lunch around 12 noon.
The park is spread across 4 monads and there are almost no lichen records on the BLS database. We will start our search in the car park and along the boardwalk through the glen recording in NS5458. There are good paths throughout the park but they can be wet and muddy so boots or sturdy footwear are advised, as are warm and waterproof clothing.
