Cennau Cymru field meeting
PLEASE NOTE THIS MEETING IS WEATHER DEPENDENT AND THERE ARE TWO POSSIBLE DATES - 28TH FEB OR 1ST MARCH
Location: Trawsfynydd Lake
Time: 10.00am to 4pm
Date: 28th February or 1st March 2026
Meeting place: You enter the power station site from the A470. Coming from the south, it's on the left, a mile or so north of the village of Trawsfynydd. You will see the lake on your left after passing the village.
Coming from the north, its a few hundred yards after the junction on the left to Betws y Coed, on the right. It is signposted for the power station, which is in the process of being decommissioned and there are also signs for the cafe.
Go down the hill from the entrance, to the car park on the right. Red circle on the google earth photo below (toggle between two images). The small car park on the left is for the cafe. Grid Ref. SH 696383.
The area around the dam in front of the power station has some diverse lichen flora. Also the woodland around the car park and the the woodland on the eastern shore of the lake. It is not access land but is freely accessible to the public and there are always lots of people walking there and using the cafe.
