Micarea lignaria var. endoleuca
An attractive Micarea, which is easily determined by the combination of areoles with a dull yellowish tinge, which have a C+ and KC+ persistent orange spot tests. Mostly found in the Highlands and Islands and western Ireland and Britain and Ireland support the bulk of the known world population.
Similare to Micarea lignaria var. lignaria but has has areoles with a dull yellowish tinge and pycnidia with meso- or microconidia are not known. Thallus C+ and KC+ persistent orange, K–, P– (unidentified xanthones).
On mossy acid rocks, humus on moorland, lignum and trees

Occasional, mainly in W. Britain and Ireland
This Micarea is widespread in the Highlands and Islands and western Ireland but only occasionally recorded beyond. Britain supports the bulk of the known world population.
