General Description
A lichen of shaded, sheltered, often north- or east-facing outcrops and below overhangs on siliceous rocks, predominantly coastal, but extending inland; locally frequent. Distinguished by the abundant, diffuse, indigo-speckled soralia and pruinose apothecia with an eroded- sorediate thalline exciple. It is usually sterile.
