General Description

A basidiomycete fungus characterised by small (100–200 µm diam.) bulbils dispersed over and between lichen thalli with no mycelium observed. The bulbils are greyish yellow when young, brown when mature, dark brown when old. Widely recorded in lowland Northern Europe in Xanthorion communities on bark and once on concrete. In Britain there are very few records as yet, but likely to be under recorded. See link
