Catillaria fungoides

A recently discovered but distinctive lichen with rounded to irregular blackish soralia and typical black Catillaria lecideine apothecia similar to those of Catillaria nigroclavata. Found on nutrient rich bark in open habitats. There are few records as yet but it may be widespread if not frequent.
