General Description
Caloplaca monacensis was recently recorded from exposed lignum on a tree in a churchyard in North Somerset. A member of the Caloplaca cerina group with a grey thallus consisting of coarse granules, small squamules and isidia, with abundant apothecia. It may be a fertile morph of Caloplaca virescens.
