General Description

Lichenicolous on Hypogymnia physodes, with black apothecia on the host's thallus, which are often on short stalks. The apothecia have brown one septate spores, 10–17 x 5 –7 μm. Mainly found in eastern Scotland but with rare records beyond.

Distribution

Most records are from eastern Scotland, but there is an old record from Cornwall and it has recently been found in the New Forest, Hampshire, so possibly over looked elsewhere.
